Kajal made her acting debut in Bollywood in a minor supporting role in Kyun… Ho Gaya Na!.                Her first huge commercial success at the box office was the Telugu movie Chandamama and in Tamil movie Saroja. Kajal Aggarwal rose to prominence after her performance as Yuvarani Mitravinda and Indu in the 2009 Telugu film Magadheera which turned out to be her biggest Tollywood commercial success.

Later that year, she appeared in the Krishna Vamsi-directed film Chandamama, which became her first major successul film. In 2008, she had her first Tamil-language film release, which was Perarasu\'s action entertainer Pazhani. The film, in which she shared screen space with Bharath was a commercial success. Following this film, she had two more Tamil releases that year with Venkat Prabhu\'s comedy-thriller Saroja, in which she did a guest appearance, and finally Bharathiraja\'s investigative thriller Bommalattam. Especially the former film went on to become a commercial as well as a critical success, but both films failed to boost her career as her roles were too insignifacant. Both her Telugu releases that year, Pourudu and Aatadista opposite Sumanth and Nitin, respectively, neither received positive reviews nor were successful at the box office. omi...
